Make a Homemade Hand Scrub

This home made scrub will help in removing dead skin cells and leave you with soft, touchable skin. Apply this on hands and feet to achieve that soft, great, smelling skin.

Preparation -
-Mix half cup of sugar, 3 table spoons of olive oil, and 3 table spoons of water in a container until fully blended (no lumps, etc).
-Add a few drops of your favorite scent to the sugar/oil/water mix and stir (optional).
-Apply mixture to your hands and rub in a circular motion until you feel that you have achieved your ideal skin softness. Do not rub more if your hands start to hurt or burn (No worries, this is probably not an allergic reaction to any of the materials, but instead from the rubbing of the grains of sugar).
-Wash your hands with water until you can no longer feel the grains of sugar.
-Towel dry and apply lotion, if you wish.
Tips: You can use brown sugar, salt, or sand instead of regular sugar.
Warnings !
Do not rub any further if skin starts to burn.
Do not use hot water, else the sugar will dissolve and become sticky and will lose it "scrubbing ability".
Probably you don’t want to use this on your face and/or any other body parts, other than your hands and feet. :)

Hand Care Tips

Beautiful, well-kept and delicate hands tell a lot of things about yourself. Hands tell you how you lead your life and how you take care of your body and skin. It is said that the hands tell you how old a woman is. Hands play an important role in communication and your personality.
1. Moisturize your hands at least four times a day.
2. Apply your face exfoliator on your hands twice a week.
3. Apply your face cream on to your hands before you go to bed once a week.
4. For dry hands, after washing your hands with soap, wet them again. Pour salt on your hands and then scrub them under water. This will help in removing the dead cells. Dry hands and apply moisturizer on them.
5. Protect your hands when you're working in the sun.
6. Wear rubber gloves while working at home and in the garden.
7. Protect and prevent your hands from aging.
8. Protect your hands from the ravages of changing weather.
9. The best way to take care of your hands is to protect them on a daily basis.
Soften your hands even while you do the dishes. Add a little almond oil (about a teaspoon) to dishwater. The water will soften rought skin while the oil seals the moisture.
10. For greasy hands, after washing your hands, rub cornmeal on them.
11. Soak your hands for five minutes in a lukewarm milk to strengthen nails and hydrate skin. Milk is loaded with lactic acid, a natural alpha hydroxy acid that gently exfoliates skin, but its high calcium content will strengthen fragile nails.

How to do a Spa Pedicure at home

So you always wanted spa-quality pedicure without spending that high price. Just invest your 30 minutes and you are done with stunning results.

Pedicure Tools required -

Nail polish remover
Cotton balls
Nail file
Nail brush
Toenail clippers and/or nail scissors
Orange stick
Cuticle oil
Water basin
Foot Scrub
Foot file
Foot Lotion
Base Coat
Clear Nail Polish
Colored Nail Polish

Home Pedicure tips -

1. Remove old nail polish - Choose an acetone-free remover (which is
gentler) to get rid of all traces of your last pedicure. Start your pedicure
by removing the old nail polish with the help of nail polish remover and cotton balls.

2. Soak your feet - Before starting your pedicure,
soak your feet in the water basin for 10 to 15 minutes.
The perfect time for a pedicure is after a bath or
shower, but you can soften your skin in a pinch.
Use warm (not hot) water, and be sure to pat dry
before the next step.

3. Remove dead skin - Apply a foot scrub or use a pumice stone
with an exfoliating rub. This is when the ladies at the corner
nail salon take out one of those scary razor blades and
the spa ladies rub expensive scrubs on your feet. We like
to use both a foot scrubber (such as a pumice stone) and
an exfoliating rub to exfoliate calluses.
4. Clip and shape nails -
Now trim your nails with toenail clipper. Long toenails are creepy. The best shape for toe nails is straight across. This shape will help in preventing painful hangnails. Smooth out edges with a nail file.

5. Push your cuticles - Now push your overgrown cuticles back into place.

6. Trim Excess SkinPerhaps the most important step, you'll
need a cuticle trimmer or nail "nipper" to help you remove dead,
rough skin from all around your nails. Be careful as these tools
are sharp.

7. Moisturize - Now apply a coat of rich moisturizer and give your feet a mini-massage. After the massage, wipe any lotion off your nails before applying polish.

8. Apply a base coat - Now apply a base coat. This is more important if
you are going to apply a dark nail polish.
9. Apply your favorite color - Now apply a fab color and apply two
coats. A bright fun color would look great on the toes! A hot pink
or bright orange would give your toes a great fun.
10. When the color is dried, apply a top coat or clear nail polish to prevent chipping and to help the polish last longer.

Milk and tomato cleanser

Tomatoes are excellent for your skin. They're rich in vitamins and antioxidants. The mild acid in tomatoes gives them the ability to exfoliate and peel dead cells away from the skin.

Ingredients -
1 large tomato (extremely ripe )
Half glass fresh un-boiled milk
A bottle of clean water.

Preparation -
Put the tomato in a blender and mash well
Strain well with a muslin cloth
Dispose off the pulp
Collect the tomato juice in a glass
Add to it an equal quantity of milk
Cover the glass or bottle and store in refrigerator.

How to apply -
Apply on face and neck once or twice a day with clean cotton swabs.
Leave on for fifteen minutes.
Rinse off with clean water
Gently pat your face dry.

Tips: It is very effective on oily skin, leaving it fresh and glowing.

Warning ! Those with sensitive skins are not advised to use this remedy.
This lotion shouldn't be preserved for more than a day or two. Make fresh cleansing lotion every couple of days.
